Sweden's most beautiful workplace is looking for a
Boatman (temporary employment during the summer of 2026)
to be placed in one of our pilot transport areas


Working as a Boatman
As a boatman, you are responsible for transporting pilots to and from vessels. The assignment includes not only navigation but also search and rescue as well as maintenance and upkeep of the pilot boat. The pilot boat is manned by two boatmen, one serving as the captain and the other as the helmsman/deckhand. The work is performed around the clock, every day, all year round, which means that both day, evening, and night shifts occur according to a fixed work schedule.
We are looking for summer substitutes who can work full-time during the summer. As a summer substitute, you play an important role in maintaining safety and service during the summer peak season.
As a vacation substitute covering for regular staff, you are expected to work full-time during the summer.


Who are you?
You must meet the following requirements:
-    minimum qualification Ship's Officer Class VII (not limited to inland waters)
-    minimum degree Engine Officer Class VIII
-    certificate Basic Safety
-    minimum ROC certificate
-    medical certificate for seafarers (deck service in unlimited waters)
-    B driver's license (manual transmission vehicle)
-    good skills in reading and speaking Swedish and English
-    good skills in working with modern maintenance systems


Furthermore, you need to have good skills in operating smaller vessels (between approximately 10-40 meters in length) and you must have a good ability to perform technical service and maintenance.

You see what needs to be done, take initiative, and take responsibility for your tasks. You are flexible, solution-oriented, and have good communication skills.


The position may require Swedish citizenship. A security review with a background check may be conducted before an employment offer.
You must provide proof of qualifications, certificates, and medical certificates by attaching a current seafarer service extract from the Swedish Transport Agency.
